Local people call to give information: emergency services will be ‘the last ones to leave’
Reports are filling in from locals in the town of Dueodde that ‘foreigners in uniform’ have been sited in the town and in and around the listening post. Local emergency services report receiving at least ten calls confirming this and have passed this news on to the Bornholms Stemme.
Emergency services, though also subjected to Danish briefings have reportedly been given no evacuation briefing by their politicians or leaders.
Nevertheless locals are showing incredible bravery. Bjarne Hansen, of the Dueodde Emergency Services, says she has no personal plans to evacuate. While there has been no indication of aggressive behaviour on the part of the unknown foreign nationals, if there is cause to evacuate the Danes can clearly count on each other.
Do we have any Danish troops stationed on Bornholm? Get in touch, we want to hear your story!
